Jill Hennessy
Her family is from Edmonton, a city who has Irish, Italian and Swedish origins, in addition to French, Ukrainian French and Swedish. She has a twin sister named Jacqueline is also an actress. When she was growing up, Jill became fluent in several languages, including Italian, French and Spanish. At the age of twelve, old, Jill became interested with acting. She started her acting career in Toronto with David Cronenberg's Dead Ringers playing an escort with her twin sister. Following her improv classes with Deb Kimmet, who was a student at Second City, she began her acting career in Toronto. Then, two years later moved in New York and signed a deal to play the Assistant District Attorney Claire Kincaid on the long popular hit series Law & Order. In the time she lived in New York, she worked on movies with a feature-length story, including RoboCop 3 (1993), Ron Howard's The Paper (1996) and I Shot Andy Warhol (1996). She was a part of a handful of dull films throughout the next years, before landing as the lead in 1999's miniseries uremberg with Alec Baldwin. Roles in major productions like Autumn in New York and Exit Wounds followed. In 2001, she landed the role of the main character in the crime show on NBC Crossing Jordan and in 2007 she received the Gracie Allen award as "Outstanding Female lead in the drama Series" due to her role in the series. She got married in 2000 to the actor who played her Paolo Mastropietro. The couple has two children. She was inducted into the Canadian Walk of Fame in 2007.
